The Lexibar team is committed to valuing everyone's dysference. "J'aime mon DYS" was born from the desire to empower « dys » people, those living with dyscalculia, dyslexia, dysorthography, dyspraxia, dysgraphia or a developmental language disorder. This movement aims to support them, raise awareness in the community of their reality, break their isolation and highlight their intellectual wealth, which contributes to the diversity of our society.
The contest, which took place from May 1 to 30, 2025, was aimed at students in grades 3 to 6 of elementary school living with dyslexia, dysorthography, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia or a language development disorder.
They were invited to write a text on the theme "Be proud of your Dysference", sharing their experience and their pride in living with a learning disability.
We are pleased to announce that Mirka Delisle, a 6th grade student at Vanguard school (Montréal), is the big winner of the 2025 edition!
Her text stood out for its sensivity, its authenticity and its inspirational force.
As a winner, Mirka becomes the young spokesperson for the 2025 media campaign, alongside Steve Bégin, and will participate in several appearances on radio, television and in written media between October 17 and 31, 2025.
Thanks to all students who participated with hearth in the 2025 edition! See you soon for other great initiatives.
Steve Bégin's online conference “Difficult journey, inspiring message!”, took place on May 1, 2025 and left its mark with its authenticity and its strength of resilience.
The rebroadcast is no longer available, but stay tuned: other events of the same type will be organized during 2026.
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this movement for people with learning disabilities.

Take a break and offer an awareness session in your class!
Education professionals are invited to raise awareness among students about the various learning disorders encountered by those integrated into regular classrooms. The goal is to help them understand why some of these students use assistive technology tools.
Learning objectives
By acquiring these tools, you directly contribute to the "J'aime mon DYS" cause, while benefiting from valuable materials to better understand and support people affected by dyslexia and other learning disorders. Steve Bégin, former NHL center, was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the second round in 1996. He played 524 regular-season games for five teams, including the Montreal Canadiens. After missing the 2011-2012 season due to an injury, he made a comeback with the Flames, playing his 500th game in February 2013 and earning a nomination for the Bill Masterton Trophy for his dedication. Unfortunately, after a stint with Calgary's AHL affiliate in 2013-2014, another injury forced him to retire in January of that same season.
Steve Bégin, spokesperson for the awareness campaign, speaks every fall to spread the message through various media outlets. He also leads conferences, testimonials, and school events organized by "J'aime mon DYS," offering his support and expertise.
